SAGA Days: SAGA Days are the visitation days in which prospective students are invited to learn more about FIU. These visitation days will provide applicants with an opportunity to interview for graduate assistantships in Student Affairs and related areas, visit and tour our campus, meet current students, faculty, and staff, and learn more about the educational program.

Symposium: Graduate Symposium is a supplement to the formal graduation ceremony. At Symposium, graduates receive their academic hood in the company of peers, faculty/staff and family. The ceremony includes remarks from faculty/staff and a graduating SAGA member.


The Practice Placement Exchange (PPE): The Practice Placement Exchange program is a partnership with Nova Southeastern University, University of Miami, & Florida Atlantic University designed to prepare graduates in higher education administration programs for The Placement Exchange (TPE). Students have the opportunity to submit both their cover letter and resume for review, interview with current student affairs professionals, and prepare for their professional job search (2nd year students) or for their internship search (1st year students).

SAGA Connect: SAGA Connect is a mentor program that connects higher education administration master’s graduate students to professionals across the higher education realm at Florida International University. Through this connection, the participants will develop competencies that will help prepare them for their professional career. The SAGA Connect Chair & co-chair are responsible for reaching out to faculty and active members of SAGA alike to align interest in mentorship. The chairs will create a platform to match graduate students with professionals through FIU as well as oversee the program as a whole creativing events such as socials to initiate contact between both parties.
